A bit of history.

The Villa du Cygne was built in 1898, and is an authentic 1900 building blending Art Nouveau and Neo-Gothic styles. An impressive staircase rises up from the living room, similar to those old American villas on the US East Cost where so many films have been produced. The large terraces, adorned with carved wood such as one finds in “dachas”, serve as a reminder of the spread of the Art Nouveau style as far away as Russia.

Thanks to the many neo-gothic bow windows, the Villa du Cygne is much brighter than pure Art Nouveau houses, where the light is often limited. To accentuate lightness, the architect created a dining room in Adam’s tradition. This is all together a very pleasant setting that has become even more comfortable and cosy thanks to some recent renovation.
